The name of this project is Stitching Exchange. I am an artist working with two groups in my area helping immigrants learn English. The Women pictured below are from the family literacy program in Hudson, NY which has been around for over 20 years. We are using sewing and other needle arts as our common language and learning to speak English along the way. The women in this picture are from Bangladesh.
